RECKLESS BEAT #1
He can seduce with a single glance.
Peering down at a sea of fans, rock star, Mitchell Davies can’t deny the innocent beauty of a woman in the front row. He’ll stop at nothing to get to know her. When a public altercation leaves her weak and defenseless, he takes the opportunity to be her savior.
She’s been sheltered from the world.
Alana Shelton wants to spread her wings and experience life away from her restrictive upbringing. But she isn’t prepared for a gorgeous stranger to sweep her off her feet while at her most vulnerable.
Attraction will bring them together, but their pasts will try to tear them apart.
He wants to teach her how to trust, but she’ll show him how to love. In a glamorous world of rock-and-roll, only time will tell if they’re up for the challenge.

1. You are one busy woman! How do you juggle being a mom, a wife, having a job, and being an author?
I’m extremely lucky. My husband is a contract fireman and also teaches training courses on various things throughout the month. He gets paid a heck of a lot more than I do, and with our kids being young, it means I can stay home and write. I recently cut my hours back at my part-time job and only work one day a week. So with my son at pre-school three days out of every seven, it gives me a lot of free time. I also don’t watch a lot of television. Every spare moment I have is either writing, researching, promoting, or reading. And loving what I do helps.
2. Can you tell us one of your favorite sex scenes you have written?
Hmm. Umm. There is probably two. The shower scene in Concealed Desire is a favorite of mine. It isn’t an actual sex scene between two people, but I think that makes it even hotter.
The other would be a scene in Blind Attraction…anyone who has read it will know which one I’m talking about 😉 I was looking forward to writing that scene before I even started the story.
3. What are the reactions you get from people when you reveal you are an erotic romance author?
To be honest, up until the release of Blind Attraction, I hadn’t really told a lot of people. My husband has always been supportive. My parents as well. Imagine hearing that your father has read one of your erotic novellas. Talk about devastating the writing mojo.
I’ve had a few raised eyebrows when my mother announced what I do to her hockey team. But I think my eyes were wider than theirs at the shock of her sudden speech about my writing.
4. Where do you get your inspirations from your characters like Mitch and Alana?
Music. Music. Music. I have a great imagination and it only takes a few lines in a song to bring a whole story to life. For Blind Attraction and the whole Reckless Beat series, Daughtry has been a great inspiration. I love their music.
5. What made you want to become a romance author?
It came out of the blue really. I was never great at English. I hated reading in school. But once I had my first son, I started reading romance. And fell in love. I got to the point where I was reading 3 or 4 novels a week and still couldn’t get enough. Something inside me clicked. Up until then, I’d never felt like I belonged anywhere. In my working life, there was never enough challenge and once I started writing everything seemed to fit into place. Now I’m constantly challenged, surrounded by an awesome group of people and love what I do.
6. The sex scenes in Blind Attraction were BEYOND HOT! What goes in to creating a scene like that?
Tough question…and I don’t really have a great answer. For me, my stories play out like a movie in my head. It’s like they’re already there, just waiting to be written. I don’t really have to think them up, or tweak them, I just have to write down what my muse dictates.
7. What made you decide to write a rock star romance?
The first story I ever started was a contemporary, rock star story. Ravaged by Deceit is still sitting on my hard-drive, unfinished. I don’t know why, but I love them. I love the comradery that comes with the band environment. I love the screaming fans and how the rock star ignores all others for the woman he loves. I love all the issues that can arise from their lifestyle. I just LURVE them. J
8. What is next on the agenda for Eden Summers? What is next in the Reckless Beat Series? More Blake and Sean please! *winks*
I haven’t announced who will be the next book in the Reckless Beat series, although everyone is chanting Blake’s name. I can tell you that the second book has been started and hopefully will be released late 2013/early 2014.
Apart from Reckless Beat, I also have a contemporary erotic novella scheduled for release on the 1st of August. Ravenous is my first contract with Escape Publishing, a division of Harlequin Australia.
9. What book or author do find yourself reading over and over again?
I don’t re-read. Ever. I never have the time. My TBR is huge enough as it is, but the authors I constantly read over and over again are Cindy Gerard, Kresley Cole, Gina Showalter, J.R. Ward and Julie James, to name a few.
10. What was the hardest part of writing Blind Attraction?
BA was a breeze to write. I can’t remember struggling with any part of it. Because it was the start of the series, I didn’t have any expectations to live up to and I was free to simply write. Book two on the other hand is a problem child.
If I had to pick something that I had to concentrate on perfecting, I would probably say balancing everything so that you had a little insight into all the rock stars while not deviating from the story of Mitchell and Alana.
11. I love, love, love this cover. Who designed it?
My cover designer is fellow Aussie author, Willsin Rowe. He is a gem and an awesomely talented guy. I’m so happy with the way the cover turned out.
12. Do you have anything specific that you would like to say to your readers?
I would love to say a huge ‘thank you’. I’ve been blessed to be surrounded by a great group of supportive people and I love you all.
