Seventeen-year-old Kari meets Neil Mars. “Neil as in Armstrong and Mars…as in Bruno.” A boy who beats every vampire, werewolf, highlander fantasy Kari has ever had. But she knows she can’t get close to him. Not ever. Because that would mean telling him everything. Coming clean. And Kari can’t bear the idea of changing the way Neil looks at her. Like she’s the only girl in the world. His reverence is something too precious to lose. Perhaps even at the cost of losing him.

But Kari doesn’t know why Neil calls her his ‘Angel’ and when she finds out, she realizes what love is all about. Boundless joy, unending longing and a fuckload of heartache.

Maybe I’ll forget this feeling someday. Maybe it’ll just be reduced to a memory made up of a flickering gas heater, the salty dew of his skin and the love in his dark, inky eyes. This feeling of pure unadulterated joy. Of reaching a high so potent that your spirit feels like it’s soaring across the universe…and falling from that glorious peak only to find yourself enveloped in someone’s warm caring hands. When you feel like you’ve just died or been born, right at the same time.
It could be that I’ll forget this feeling someday. But I’m sure it won’t be anytime soon. Maybe when I’m a hundred and looking forward to my lunch of mashed bread. Not one single day before.
All My Life was an incredibly honest, emotional, intense read. After reading the Prologue, I knew this was going to be an interesting and unique story. When I finished the first chapter, I felt like I was holding my breath the entire time, and all I could muster was that bastard!

All My Life is a story of a young girl who falls for a guy who ends up deceiving and hurting her in the worst way. A couple years pass by and the ghost of her past is still hanging on tight and will not let her go no matter what. Will she ever get out of this HELL that is her miserable life? Will she ever be able to trust or love anyone ever again? One glance across a busy street, and she found her answer….

Kari finds her self working at a tattoo shop out of all places, training to be an artist. She always aced her art classes, how hard could it be, right? Oh, how her mother would not approve! While working there she makes great friends and her life seems to be normal for a little bit, until that Friday of every month comes around and she is confronted with her horrible past once again. The light at the end of the tunnel seems so far away until she sets her eyes on the beautifully handsome Neil. It was LUST at first sight for sure! Neil swoops in to her life, buys her the best BLT she has ever eaten, and makes her feel all kinds of sexy and beautiful. It has been SOOO long since she has felt this way. She could actually fall for this wonderful, sexy man! Both of them have secrets, but once they are out in the open, that’s when they can really start to trust each other and find something real, something they have never experienced before with another person.

The sexual tension and chemistry between these two characters were my favorite part of the story. That, and also the suspense was killing me since the beginning of All My Life. This little gem of a book surprised me, because after reading the blurb, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but since I devoured this in one night, you could say I was delightfully surprised at how fantastic this truly was. The other great thing about this were the other characters involved in Kari and Neil’s life, Agnas and Nalini. The story of Agnas, Neil’s mother, absolutely broke my heart, and Nalini made me bust a gut laughing so hard with her quick witted remarks and catch phrases. Once again, I love to find a book that makes me go through so many emotions at once. I definately recommend All My Life by Rucy Ban, if only for the fact that this story will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
