On the outside Emily Bruel lives the perfect life. She’s been happily married for almost ten years with two beautiful children. Living on New York City’s Upper East Side, she inhabits a palatial townhouse that was once an embassy. She has a live-in nanny, a housekeeper, a cook, a driver, a masseuse and a trainer. Young, skinny, stunning, she wants for nothing. Except, of course, the want she has for her husband to stop ignoring her existence and touch her, the way he did once.
Emily starts rewinding her love story with the most beautiful man she has ever laid eyes on: Louis Bruel. He was once deemed New York City’s most eligible bachelor. He plucked and hooked the then eighteen-year-old innocent and stunning Emily Marcus before the world had a chance to lay eyes on her. He created a life for Emily that others could only dream of. Was she a fool to trust that one woman could be enough for the insatiable, gorgeous, playboy millionaire? Can their uninhibited, scorching romance just fizzle out and die? With the help of ‘80s songs we journey back with Emily into their lives and their love in rewind.
It’s a love at first sight love story. This book will have you floating on cloud nine. I love me some Louis Bruel. His words will captivate you, mesmerize you, sweep you off your feet and have you absolutely swooning over this man.
Emily Marcus is an eighteen year old virgin fresh out of high school. Helping out her older sister serving at a business event, she spots Louis Bruel. Never speaks to him that evening and she develops the obsessive crush and often sexual fantasies until they meet again. From there they are inseparable. Spending every moment possible together and falling crazy in love in a matter of days. Only, Mr. Tall, Rich and Famous business owner has a past. Is he just too good to be true?
“We were inseparable, insatiable, and omnivorous, sharing ourselves with no one but each other.” ~Emily
Louis Bruel, twenty-nine year old Real Estate Business Owner, has never committed to one woman. Known as a player and known to have multiple women at the same time. Never did he imagine falling in love and wanting to commit himself with one woman. Until he laid eyes on the most breathtaking eyes he’d ever seen.
“I wake up every night thinking you’re right there with me, and when reality hits I try to go back to sleep as quickly as possible to make the night go by faster so I can see those incredible eyes again. Emily, you erase all the rest. You’re my life and you have my heart. So how could you possibly compare?” ~Louis
This story takes you on a journey of love and loss, happiness and heartache, miscommunication and trust. Right out of the gate I thought I so hate Louis. As Emily took me on her journey, I too fell completely in love with him. It had me on an emotional rollercoaster. I cried and laughed. I felt the love, the passion, the happiness. I felt! I felt it all. And let’s talk about the sex for a moment….Good God! So good! Louis and that dirty, dirty mouth.
“Fuck, you’re wet. You want me to fuck your ass, don’t you? Oh yeah … I’m going to bury myself in every hole, baby. I want my cum inside you, dripping down your thighs. I’m going to fuck you all night. So keep calm and enjoy the ride. No getting off until morning.” ~Louis
Thank you Tali Alexander for writing such an amazing book. The right amount of everything. I was consumed. What a beautiful story. The bond between the characters, the family and friends was a nice change to see. A great book without having the added family drama. But to show the strength, support and love between them was a breath of fresh air. And let’s not forget the 80s music references between Emily and her best friend, Sara and links to the actual songs and lyrics.
“sending her a text that I knew only she would understand and not question: It Must Have Been Love by Roxette.” ~Emily
I highly recommend reading this book. You will not be disappointed!
“You deserve the moon, the sky, and the fucking stars. Once I figure out a way to get those they’ll be yours. If I can’t buy you things, then what’s the point of me having all my millions? Everything that is mine is yours. I didn’t steal the money I have. I earned it! I earned it for us. Emily, please let me give you beautiful things.” ~Louis
