This isn’t a story about a bad boy and a girl from the right side of the tracks. This is the story of a man and a woman discovering love is blind to how you grew up, who your friends are, and where you live. Love sees only the heart and soul of whom it belongs to.

Someone once said that the best way to predict the future is to invent it.

As a boy, Jayson Santiago made a vow to leave behind the projects where he grew up. He planned to conquer the world and find a woman who could not only hold it down, but also hold him up. Now he’s the reigning king of hip-hop, and while he has the professional success he always wanted, he’s missing the personal success he craves.

Victoria Watson is the daughter of an oil tycoon who never wanted for anything. Circumstances have forced her out of her protective bubble and into the real world, where she struggles to make ends meet while finding a way to get back the only important thing in her life.

Will they be able to make Jayson’s prophecy come true? Or will they be pushed past their breaking point? It isn’t easy to keep focused on the heart and soul of the one you love when you’re always being tested.

Then again, the best things in life are always worth fighting for...

❝…life throws you curves, some of them cutting harder than others.❞

Author Jessica Ingro knows how to give us scorching sex scenes, sexy dominant men that make us swoon, and romance like nothing before. In Urban Love Prophecy, she gives us something different, something refreshing, and something that is not like your typical Happily Ever After. Even though this isn’t your perfect love story, it still reaches your heart and soul. You become so protective of these characters, that you scream, cry, and laugh right along with them. Two imperfect souls coming together, fighting together, struggling together, and loving together. It was a very well written, beautiful love story that definitely doesn’t scream cliché.

❝You can call me your king when I’m fucking the shit out of you if you want.❞

Jayson Santiago had a hard life growing up and he has always wanted something better for himself. Living like he did, you would do just about anything to survive and care for your family. We start of the story beautifully, and experience Jayson as a young boy, struggling to get by in the projects. When gun shots ring out, and he gets a good look at what’s happening around him…a prophecy comes to light in his young, naive, stubborn head…

❝My momma told me you just have to find the right one, and that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to treat her like a queen and she’ll treat me like I’m her king.❞

Being the daughter of a rich, successful man, Victoria Watson has had a great life, with the exception of a new wife for her dad every few years, because her mom is gone. With her dad on his death-bed, and the ‘current’ wife forcing her out of her own home, she has no choice but to step out into the real world and fend for herself. Between the sleazy men at her job that can’t keep their hands to themselves, and her father’s wife keeping her away from her own home, and the only man she has ever loved, her father, Tori can’t seem to catch a break. That is, until a stranger steps up, and turns Tori’s world upside down.

❝You’ll never lose it, baby. You’ll always have me. I promise you that.❞

Don’t let that last quote fool you. Jayson isn’t your knight in shining armor type hero. He is sweet, charming, and extremely sexy at first, then he will rip your heart out. I’m not kidding. I became very protective over Tori in this book, and Jayson’s actions cast him in a horrible light for me. Just when I was about to give up on him, Ms. Ingro’s writing just sucked me back in. You hear more and more about Jay’s past, and you start to understand (but not forgive) his actions. Ladies be warned, he is unfaithful, unreasonable, and so damn stubborn that you will want to kick him in the nuts, but keep reading, because I guarantee, that even though he does what he does, there is still a little boy from the projects inside, trying to trust, trying to love, trying to survive this life. Victoria Watson is his antidote, and they both are strong enough to get past their demons, and fight for one another. Two broken souls trying to hang on, when the whole world is after them, beautiful and touching, don’t ya think?
