What would you do if you've lost everything? If the reason you woke up in the morning no longer existed? If life dealt you a blow so devastating that something as simple as breathing was just too painful, how would you find the strength to go on?

Nicole Miller was happy, busy with her family and her dream job. Life was perfect. When tragedy struck, she succumbed to her devastating loss and crumbled under the heavy weight of her despair. She didn’t know where to find the strength to keep going.

Divorce Attorney, Shawn Burns had seen too many destroyed marriages to believe that happily ever after actually existed. By avoiding commitment, he remained aloof, and most importantly, unattached. Nicole, Shawn’s old college friend, is the only woman that he would ever be willing to give his heart to, but she was married to someone else…

Some friendships survive under stress. Some do not. Can Shawn, provide the healing balm for his friend’s soul? Will Nicole ever be able to find hope, forgiveness, or love for her desolate heart?

5 Stars! 5 Stars! 5 Stars! I would give this book 15 stars if I could! I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. Holy crap grab your tissue and lots of it! This book took me on an emotional roller coaster and I loved the ride!

This book takes the saying “You never know how strong you are, till strong is the only thing you can be” to a whole other level. Reading this book, I felt as though, Leigha Lewis had been through this tragedy herself. Her words ripped my heart out, brought me to tears, made me cry an UGLY CRY, made me smile, laugh and fall in love, with Nicole and Shawn.

At 28, Nicole Miller had everything. A, what she thought was a great marriage, a beautiful healthy child Jax, and ran her own business, with her best friend Zena. Then her marriage crumbled and she lost her 10-year-old son, in a tragic death. The loss of her son sent her into a darkness, that only a mother could understand. Nicole did not want to live and almost succeeded, with taking her life.

That was until the gorgeous, the sexy and rich divorce attorney Shawn Burns walked back into Nicole’s life. Shawn had been into Nicole since college. Shawn was an identical twin, to his brother Shane Burns. Shawn helped Nicole not only with her divorce, from Jax’s father, he helped her learn to wanna live and love again.

Shawn Burns had an amazing family, especially his mother Mrs. Burns! I loved her and how so young at heart she was. Mrs. Burns helped her son bring Nicole out of her darkness. Shawn stayed with Nicole day and night, while Mrs. Burns cooked, cleaned and taught Nicole how to cook Shawn’s favorite recipes. Nicole and Mrs. Burns became the greatest of friends.

During Nicole’s healing time, her best friend Zena ran the business her and Nicole built, from the ground up. Also during Nicole’s healing, sexual tension grew between her and Shawn. When I say sexual tension I mean SEXUAL TENSION! Shawn Burns was a ladies man and never went many days out of the week without sex. He had his dependable sexual partner, who was always there UNTIL…… Nicole got under his skin and she was all he thought about.

They didn’t act on their sexual tension, for a long time. All they did was watch Netflix and play Candy Crush. Matter a fact Nicole didn’t know what Candy Crush was till Shawn introduced it to her. She became a pro and surpassed Shawn’s level. As time went on the sexual tension was too much to bear. Shawn (Mr. Casanova) said Nicole was the greatest sex he had ever had and he had, had a lot.

The healing was slow and agonizing, to see her struggle each day to move on, and thankful that she has Shawn to give her encouragement every day. It took a while, and a whole lot of patience, comforting, and love that she had finally come out of the darkness, and tried to live her life. She had learned to forgive, and to open her heart to forgiving the one man who she blamed for the death of her baby boy. (Her ex husband)

This book is an awesome read. Read this book and see if Nicole and Shawn get their HEA. “Just One More Breath” is a story of love, forgiveness, great sex and moving on. This was an amazing debut from Leigha Lewis, and definitely her writing has my attention. I will continue to read her books.
