I never intended Joshua Lars, the sexy-as-sin sculptor to be more than a one-night stand. How was I to know his masterful hands and dominant command would wake the sleeping submissive within me? Any of my friends would have said that Mellie Carson was an independent, successful woman who would never kneel for a man. I’d already chalked my one foray into surrendering my control up to naïve stupidity. I was far too smart now to do it again—or so I thought. Then came Joshua… Determined to resist his powerful draw, I tried to forget him, but Fate—and a killer—had other plans. Now, in Joshua’s arms, I might be safe, but I fear my heart isn’t. Can he save my life while saving my submission?
Back to GENESIS we go…where the Doms are deliciously seductive and the subs are fiercely sexy! Right off the bat, Ms. Jacob takes us on a scorching hot, kinky, angst ridden thrill ride. In Saving My Submission, Jenna Jacob does what she does best…making us weak in the knees with the incredibly explosive chemistry she creates between the two main characters. A big grin spread across my face after reading the first couple of pages! Instantly, we experience that explosive chemistry between the sheets. Those pages set the scene perfectly with how this storyline is going to play out. A fiercely independent woman, whose submissive side has been put to rest forever, and the incredibly sexy sculptor, whose strong hands will help this sleeping submissive awaken to a new light full of sexual splendor and complete surrender. Patience and limits will be tested. Their past took away a piece of their soul. Only together and connected can they start the healing process and repair what once was broken.
Ms. Jacob does such a wonderful job creating such beautiful, broken characters that immediately latch on to your heart and NEVER lets go. Unlike the previous Doms of Genesis book, I didn’t get CRAZY emotional with this one, yet it still got to me somehow. It’s never hard to find some aspect in her characters that you can relate to, which makes following along in the story, that much more intense. We have all dealt with something in our past that rocked our worlds on such a level that it changed part of us; maybe even a part of you stayed hidden away. How long can you neglect something that was so deeply embedded into your soul? For Mellie, her submissiveness was a big part of her. That, along with her trust in the BDSM culture was ripped away a long time ago. She has learned to live without that important piece for years. After one spectacular night with the beautiful Joshua Lars, her submissive light started to flicker. The more she thought about that night, and how he commanded her body and her mind, the more that light started to thrive.
Mellie and Joshua both have fears, similar fears that could make or break their union. Together they will fight for each other the only way they know how. Joshua will show Mellie that her submissive side is something to be treasured always, taking her body to new heights and helping her soul soar. Mellie will give her heart, body, mind, and soul freely to Joshua, showing him that he still holds the control and he is capable to love again.
A suspenseful, erotic, and beautiful story that will leave you flying high in your very own subspace. An intriguing storyline that will have you on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next, and characters that will tie themselves to your heart and never let go. The Doms of Genesis will rock your world and leave you breathless!
What is your favorite thing about Joshua Lars? What makes him tick? What does he look for in a submissive?
I think Joshua’s most attractive quality is his patience level and his confidence. Like a true Master, he’s cognizant of what the sub’s needs (even if she isn’t) and has the skill to wield his command in providing it.
Joshua is what I would call a ‘Guiding Dom.’ He tries to give subs direction in their journey, to help them grow. While being both loving and compassionate he has no compunction in showing firmness, when needed. And when it comes to Mellie… it’s definitely needed.
While he’s never sought out a sub that would crawl inside his heart, he takes his role as a Dominant more in the capacity of training… well, until he meets Mellie.
What is your favorite thing about Mellie? What makes her tick? What does she look for in a man?
Mellie is an independent woman who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself or those she loves. I admire that about her.
Success drives her, and to a large degree, fulfills her. Being a sought after Interior Designer of the world’s rich and famous has provided her with the independence she fiercely clings to. Yet, no matter how adamantly she tries to deny its existence; there’s a submissive trapped inside aching to be set free.
The only thing Mellie wants from a man is a good time. The minute they start delving too deep, she sends them packing. Her self-imposed walls keep her safe from heartache and heartbreak, and that’s exactly how she wants it… until Joshua comes along then the fireworks begin.
I know you have collaborated with Shayla Black and Isabella LaPearl on the Doms of Her Life Series, btw, it is one of my favorite series along with The Doms of Genesis, but who else would you like to collaborate with and why?
That’s a REALLY tough question. I cannot honestly pick just one…. It would be more like one or two ~dozen~
Is it easier to have co-authors, or do you prefer writing on your own?
I don’t know if you could say “easier” I know it’s a hell of a lot more FUN than writing alone. There are some days when the three of us laugh more than write, or so it seems. I know one thing, I’m truly blessed to have two such phenomenal woman to write with I would say I have the best of both worlds when it comes to writing.
I know you love reading when you are not swamped with writing. What was the last book you have read, and would you recommend it?
Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to read anything for a long, long time. I have a huge TBR pile and hopefully soon, I’ll be able to start devouring it. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please!
What does your DREAM writing office look like?
Padded walls… oh, oops, just kidding. It’s not so much what it looks like from the inside, but the outside for me. My fantasy office would be an open airy villa on the hill of a private island with a panoramic view of the ocean. Yep, that works for me!
After reaching your daily word count, what do you like to indulge in?
Plotting twists and turns for my next book. LOL I’m not much into television, so I usually kick back and read, or spend time with my family and friends. I know – I’m an exhausting party animal, right? ~Laugh~
