While performing the greatest love story of all time, they discovered one of their own …
At America’s most prestigious arts academy, Cassie Taylor was the good girl acting student. Ethan Holt was the bad boy around campus. Then one fated casting choice for Romeo and Julietchanged everything. Like the characters they were playing onstage, Cassie and Ethan’s epic romance seemed destined. Until it ended in tragedy when he shattered her heart.
Now they’ve made it to Broadway, where they’re reunited as romantic leads once more, and their passionate scenes force them to confront the heartbreaking lows and pulse-pounding highs of their intense college affair.
For Ethan, losing Cassie was his biggest regret and he’s determined to redeem himself. But for Cassie, even though Ethan was her first and only great love, he hurt her too much for her to ever trust him again. The trouble is, working with him reminds her that people who rub each other the wrong way often make the best sparks. And when it comes to love, sometimes it’s the things that aren’t good for us that are the most irresistible.
What a spectacular read! Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven was chock-full of sexual tension, you could feel it in the air! Absolutely amazing and full of such heart and passion, this book had me on my knees by the very end. This second chance romance messed with my head and my heart, and I came out of it a different person for sure. I’m a big fan of the hate to love relationships. I dig the push-pull, the constant struggle, and the intensity of it all. That heart-pounding, cold-sweat, anxiety-ridden, emotional pull from two characters is amazing to read and experience. It kept me on my toes, kept the pages turning quickly, and had me devouring this love story in no time. The characterization, the storyline, the secondary characters, the tone, all of it was just TOP-NOTCH!
I had such an instant connection with the main characters in this book. Our heroine, Cassie Taylor, what a terrific character to read about. Her growth and strength throughout this book, blew me away. Cassie is the girl who wants people to like her. She will change herself to fit the need of the group, to fit in. She strives for courage to step back, but it is ever so challenging when you grew up with parents like hers. On the outside it may seem she is trying too hard to fit in, but in her chosen profession, pretending to be someone else for a couple of hours is key to success. She has never been called out on it, until she has a run in with the ever so charming Ethan Holt.
Now, I say ever so charming in a very sarcastic way, because he is so far from charming, it’s ridiculous. Ethan is the bad boy who your parents warned you about. He chews em’ up and spits em’ out. Nothing fazes him at all. He is dark, broody, and of course, that makes him sexy as hell. He is a douche and he knows it. Something in his past ruined him, and he was never able to recover. You get the sense that he has no interest in recovering what was lost. Nothing mattered except getting into The Grove. His heart was silent until he met her. The girl with so much damn talent, she has no idea. The girl who affects his mind, body, and soul and again, has NO IDEA.
A connection that is instant, but stays simmering for so long. Cassie and Ethan are as one when they are on stage together. No one can compete with their chemistry. No one can deny their chemistry, NOT EVEN THEM! It’s so visceral and almost palpable, I’ve never wanted two characters to jump into bed so badly as these two right here. The back and forth, the past and present was very well done in this book. It kept me engaged, kept me captivated, kept me entranced with every word on the page.
With every chapter gone, I felt my desperation growing. My desperation for Cassie and Ethan’s happily ever after was unreal. Their love story…epic. Their connection…transcendent. I couldn’t have asked for a better love story. The author put her heart into this book, into these characters, into their story. These characters are not your average Romeo and Juliet. They are something so much more.
I will be counting down the days to their Happily Ever After in BROKEN JULIET, coming out April 2015!
