Wren, the rich girl with a tainted past, is on a crusade to track down her father’s murderer only to find not one, but two, bad men.
Moghul is a sadist and businessman, with a finger in every kinky enterprise he can get his hands on and a jaded view on life. When his eye turns to Wren, he realizes how dull life has been. He hasn't tried everything after all. When they can’t say no, things might be more…interesting.
Glass is the dominating ex-SAS soldier. Each man is determined to keep Wren for himself using methods that may be illegal, immoral, or likely to make somebody feel the pain for a long, long time.
If you lie down with bad men, be prepared to get up on your knees.
The ending will be the reader’s decision. Give Wren to the dark or to the light, then read the other ending if you wish to.
Mindf**ks included free.
This is a dark erotic story and some readers may find it disturbing.
No one pulls together dark and erotic like Cari Silverwood. Her mind is twisted and disturbing and I fucking love it! Yes, some parts were like a train wreck and you just couldn’t look away, but others were a thing of beauty and artistry. The darkness in this story is alluring, sexy, and incredibly intense. These characters that she created were amazing. Even at their darkest, you find a glimpse of light and it reassures you to keep going, stay on this journey, follow this path that is being laid out in front of you with such captivating and poetic words.
This being Ms. Silverwood’s darkest tale yet, she brings us outside of the box and lets the reader decide the female lead’s fate. I was very curious about this concept. Would I read the happily ever after that I know is there, or do I travel down a more dubious path and see what kind of emotions get pulled out of me? I felt, as a reviewer, that I would need to read both endings, so that is what I did. After reading the Blade Path, I found myself content, but surprised at my overall feelings. This was the ending I had hoped for right? Well, during the story, these feelings of sympathy and compassion for a certain character were shining through and surprising the hell out of me. I was content but at the same time a little unsettled, and I feel like I will never find out the reason why.
The Thorn Path is another ending that you can choose. If you are a hardcore dark erotic reader, this is the path for you. I was scared to read this, but in the end, I was considerably okay with it. This is your non-conventional happily every after. I’m not even sure you can call it that, but I’m going to. Even though this conclusion had a considerable amount of heartache in it, something beautiful still rose from the ashes, so it’s incredibly hard to tell you which ending I prefer. Just know, whatever ending you choose, it will open your eyes to new possibilities, and bring about a whole bunch of questions to walk away with and ponder. THIS is the genius of it all.
A woman with nothing left finds a sliver of happiness amongst the darkness. With too much happiness, comes doubt threatening to ruin everything. Trust will be forced upon her. Strength will be found. Wren will rise like a phoenix out of the ashes. The question is, which man will she decide to rise with; a man who is assertive and yet so tender; a man whose dominant side prevails only when she is near, or a powerful man who knows no limits, a man who gets what he wants no matter the consequences, a man whose dominant and possessive heart is slowing warming to the possibility of a future with his slave.
Is the danger you know safer than the danger you don’t?
I was craving to dive back into this world. Cari Silverwood is a poet, a dark poet that lures me in every single time. A master at her craft, I knew Ms. Silverwood would not steer me wrong. This book and the entire Pierced Hearts series was magnificent, a true dark erotic reader’s crack. Brava!
