Carter bought his way out of the mafia to protect Emma, but when an old ghost returns to the Mauricio Family, a chain of events starts that can harm everyone. While Carter must decide to return to the Mauricio Family or not, a face that is oddly familiar to Emma comes into her life. She’s given the chance to discover more about her family while tension between the rivaling Mauricio and Bertal Family comes to a head in an explosive way. The truce is officially off, and when the two worlds collide, Carter’s decision is made.
He didn’t start this war, but he will end it.
He will do anything to protect Emma.

mythoughts

I was feeling down and out because I was going through a book slump. The last couple of books I’ve read fell flat for me in so many ways. So who do you turn to when that happens? Which author, no matter what they write, ends up putting a smile on your face and douses you with a slam dunk in the romance department? Well the incredibly talented TIJAN, that’s who! It feels like so long ago when I was introduced to the dangerously seductive Carter Reed and his mafia ways. I didn’t even know, up until recently, that there was a Carter Reed 2 in existence! When that baby popped up on my Kindle, I just KNEW this was going to be a good day! TIJAN always paints a sexy, erotic, and beautiful picture with her words, and boy did she do CARTER REED justice in this next installment! I enjoyed the conclusion of Carter and Emma’s love story so much! They deserve a HEA for the books and the author delivered like a boss!

“Why is it that your presence can calm me? Your touch can make me alive, and one little sigh from you makes me want to sleep for days in your embrace?”

“Because you love me.”

CARTER REED 2 begs the question, are you ever truly out of the mob? For Carter he just keeps getting pulled back in, but it’s all in the name of his soul mate, his Emma. He will do whatever it takes. He will move mountains. He will annihilate anyone in his path to protect her. Carter is still in business with both the Bertal and Mauricio family, but when a ghost from the past pops up, it stirs things up for the families and for Carter and Emma. Their happily ever after keeps getting pushed back with all of these surprise events happening, and it looks like there is no end in sight. Carter’s past isn’t the only one that decides to make an appearance. Emma’s past isn’t quite what it seems, and everything she once knew about her childhood comes to a grinding halt. It just adds another layer to the clusterfuck that is their life.

This author did a beautiful job catching us up from book one, and a fantastic job delivering on the sequel. Chock-full of suspense with a fair amount of incredibly erotic scenes between Carter and Emma, I was more than happy to dive back into this fast-track, sexy world of the mafia. Mob romances are the best for romantic suspense junkies, and I happen to be a major junkie! Past character return, and new characters come to light. A gorgeous and mysterious secondary character was brought into the fold and I’m hoping, praying, that someday he will get a story of his own. My fingers are crossed that Carter and Emma will certainly make an appearance in that one as well!

About Tijan

I didn’t begin writing until after undergraduate college. There’d been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can’t blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I’m hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.

  1. If I knew how to type a kiss other than “X”, I would. Since I don’t, I’ll just type XOXOXOXO because I think Tijan is awesome, too!
