They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?
Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.
Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.
Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend...and a big one to learn about himself.
Warning: contains sexual situations, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.
WOW! This was SO incredibly fantastic! So sweet, charming, sexy, emotional, and exciting! I just KNEW that I was going to fall head over heels in love with this couple!
Kennedy and Bowen have come together to create something special here. Wes and Jamie’s story is one I will never forget. It was so inspiring, so honest. I just couldn’t get enough.
HIM is a beautiful, touching romance focusing on two best friends who end up becoming so much more. A second chance friendship turns into a deeper connection than they ever thought possible. Back when they were teens, attending hockey camp every summer, one encounter leads Wes to walk away from his best friend. Jamie never knew what drove Wes to walk away and break the strong bond they had. Years later, both in college and ruling the college hockey scene, they are pulled together when their teams face each other for the championship. The past can be forgiven, but never really forgotten. When Wes confesses why he really walked away that day at camp, will Jamie be able to let it go?
Now that the championship is over, Wes and Jamie attend the same hockey camp they went to as kids, but this time, they are the coaches. They are forced to confront the past and what it all means. Just when Wes is about to come to terms with the fact that his straight best friend will never love him the same way, Jamie throws him a bone or two. Sparks fly when these two finally come together the way they were always meant to. Jamie is confused about what he is feeling, but he is lucky that he has his best friend Wes to help him through it. Their bond is about to become a whole lot stronger.
OMG! I can’t get over how much I adored this book. I’m such a fan of Elle’s writing and this was my first read from Sarina. These two made magic happen with Wes and Jamie’s story. A love lost. A love found again. I just love the slow build of their new connection. It warmed my heart and made me blush. I laughed. I teared up. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. This was an all around brilliant read, definitely one of the best mm romances I’ve read this year.
