From the New York Times and USA TODAYbestselling author of Where Sea Meets Sky comes a new adult novel about a young woman who becomes a nanny in Capri and falls for her charges’ bad-boy brother.

When I’m traveling, I feel like the secret to my life, to myself, to really becoming, is one step ahead. It’s in the next destination, the next town I get lost in, the next stranger I talk to. It’s always next but never here . . .

After six months of backpacking and soul-searching across the world, Amber MacLean is flat broke. There are worse places for a twentysomething to be stuck than the Amalfi Coast, but the only way she can earn enough money for a plane ticket home to California is to teach English to two of the brattiest children she has ever met.

It doesn’t help that the children are under the care of their brooding older brother, ex-motorcycle racer Desiderio Larosa. Darkly handsome and oh-so-mysterious, the young master of the crumbling villa tests Amber’s patience and will at every turn—not to mention her hormones.

When her position turns into a full-time nanny gig, Amber grows dangerously closer to the enigmatic recluse. But can she give up the certainty of home for someone whose closely guarded heart feels a world apart from her own?

A story of hope. A story of facing your fears. A story of falling in love.

OMG! What an absolutely spectacular, perfectly emotional read! Karina Halle has a way of transporting her readers to such beautiful and magical place. I was completely immersed in Amber and Derio story. It was like I was in a dream, floating above these characters, watching the beauty of it all. I laughed, I cried, I sighed, and I swooned. RACING THE SUN was perfection, a romance everyone will fall in love with. Halle is such an imaginative and beautiful writer. You can’t help but to fall in love with everything she releases.

A woman traveling the world trying to find herself and trying to find a reason to not go back home where her parents will force her to become the responsible adult that she has not interest in becoming. These past six months backpacking all over has been the best time of her life, and now she is strapped for cash to get back home. She ends up finding a job teaching english to two young children on the beautiful island of Capri. She can do this. Teaching english, how hard could it be? She has no idea what she is in for.

It turns out that these two young children are still grieving over the loss of their parents. They are moody, disruptive, rude, and sometimes out of control. It doesn’t help that their older bother, their now guardian, is moody himself and doesn’t want to be bothered. Amber can sense a connection with the ex-motorcycle racer, and she is determined to break through his walls. She becomes in over her head with another loss in the Larosa house, and she is forced to take on so much more responsibility. This family has become something special to her, and she finds herself falling in love with them all, meanwhile, getting closer and closer to breaking down Desiderio’s walls brick by brick. Amber wants to mend this family and bring them peace once and for all. Her connection with Desiderio runs deep with passion, and they can’t help but fall for each other. She may have healed Desiderio’s heart, but will she end up breaking her own when the pressure is just too much?

What a journey. What a spectacular and emotional roller coaster. There is so much beauty, passion, and love in this story, I just couldn’t look away. Lovers who end up at a crossroads, facing their fears, but at what cost? Oh, it was just so breathtakingly beautiful. I need every romance lover to read this story, to meet these characters, and to experience just how fantastic Karina’s writing really is. The whole way through, all of my senses were awakened. I felt like I was on the island of Capri taking in the salty, humid air and basking in the beautiful sunshine. I was facing my fears right alongside Amber and I couldn’t have been more at peace. What an escape. What a journey. What a treasure. Bellissima!
