Eighteen is hard.
And so is Mateo Alesci.
He’s hard to read, hard to predict, hard in every way that counts. He wants things from me.
Dirty things, nasty things, forbidden things.
And I have to give in.
His attention is completely inappropriate, but I can’t say no. The way he looks at me… the way he watches me through my bedroom window… the way he drags me deeper and deeper into his completely forbidden fantasy world just… turns me on.
He knows it turns me on.
He holds all the power. He holds all the cards.
He holds my entire future in his hands.
And I have to give in.
Because Mr. Alesci is my teacher.
And I need everything he’s offering.

I’m so fucking ecstatic! This was my very first J.A. Huss book and I can officially say that I’m ADDICTED! There is no going back from here. She made a new fan tonight. This author DOES NOT pussy foot around at all, and I LOVE that about her. EIGHTEEN was a deliciously naughty thrill ride – one that I didn’t want to walk away from. I’m usually not over the moon excited about the New Adult/Coming of Age genre, but when it’s penned by an author like Huss, well, I will pretty much read any genre she writes.

Shannon Drake has to be one of my favorite female leads that I’ve read about this year. She is a girl after my own heart. She has absolutely NO filter. She is sarcastic, vulgar, spunky with a shitload size of sass. I wish I had someone like her by my side in high school. If you thought your 18th birthday was crappy, you haven’t seen nothing yet. Shannon has shit luck, a shit life, and she feels stuck. Her school is doing her NO favors, no one notices her, and the only family she has left is an infant. Nothing is going her way. She can’t catch a break, and my heart went out to her right away. She’s acting out because that is the only thing that is keeping her sane, until Mateo Alesci steps into the picture.

HOT and over the top bossy teacher, Mateo Alesci. He has set his sights on the spitfire and there is no going back for him. He will own her mind, body, and soul – AND have her passing trig whether she likes it or not. I’ll be honest with you and warn you that Alesci is INTENSE. He has me flustered the minute he came into the picture. He is demanding, controlling, rough, passionate, and SEXY AS HELL! Shit, I don’t know what I would do if I was in Shannon’s position…oh wait! Yes, I do. I would SURRENDER immediately. Consequences be damned!

The tangle web they weave becomes too much, too fast, and everything starts to fall apart. How can a relationship like theirs truly survive so many obstacles? I’ll tell you what, it’s not easy. There are twists and turns you WILL NOT expect. Truths that will stun you. Revelations that will have your jaw dropping to the ground. I had a pit in my stomach the entire time, but by the end, my grin couldn’t get any wider. It seems appropriate to say that I FUCKING inhaled this book. I probably set a record for fastest reading, and by the end, I wanted to read it all over again. When it comes down to it, this is about a man who will fight hard for what he wants. This kind of love? I would have scooped it up and ran with it, even if I was only eighteen years old.

“Everything of worth requires effort.”

Every romance reader needs a little angst and drama in their lives. They need passion. They need intensity. They need to escape reality every once in a while, and what better way to experience that, than to experience it with the magical words of JA Huss.
