Jacob and Harper push the boundaries of danger and desire in the next installment of the alluring serial novel from New York Times bestselling author Beth Kery...
Jacob’s addiction to Harper is putting his life’s work at risk, but he can’t deny himself the pleasure he feels when he’s with her. Even when her seeming refusal to acknowledge their past connection makes him doubt her true intentions, he finds himself pushing their affair further, insisting Harper submit to their attraction, even in the most compromising of circumstances.
As their encounters become even more lavish, daring, and intimate, Harper aches to break down the walls around Jacob’s heart. But she fears his secrets conceal a dark side she’s not ready to face. When he suggests a weekend in San Francisco together, she accepts despite her doubts about getting involved with such a guarded, powerful man. There's something about him that keeps her coming back for more. He claims he's obsessed, but she is every bit as compelled...
You know who does romance serials right? BETH KERY, that’s who! The Make Me Serial Series is broken up into eight parts and each one gives you just enough time to be shocked and surprised. At the end of each one you will be begging for more! MAKE ME DESPERATE marks the halfway point and I’m incredibly anxious and nervous to get to the end. I have NO CLUE how Kery will give us a happily ever after, but I DO KNOW she will give us one that is deserving and spectacular, just like all of her other romances.
In this incredibly sexy installment, Jacob is losing his control a bit. And all Harper wants to do is crack him open and heal whatever is broken in this gorgeous, tormented man. Jacob keeps telling himself to stay away, to not go back to the past, but the past will not stay away from him. He is reminded of it every single time he looks at Harper. It’s madness and it’s beauty all wrapped in one twisted fate. There is more childhood flashbacks and mentions of a character that I’m dying to know more about. It’s mysterious and intriguing and I NEED to know more. The familiarity is growing for Harper, but she still doesn’t know what that means. It just draws her further into Jacob’s web of mystery. Jacob is moving further and further out of his comfort zone with Harper, and I’m enjoying every second of it. He’s opening up more and more. He is becoming more and more protective and vulnerable, which means something is bound to slip out. Could it be in the next installment? Let’s find out!
