Adam Turner loves women. All women. Every shape and size, regardless of hair or eye color, religion or race, he simply enjoys them all. Meeting more than his fair share as the manager and head bartender of The Odyssey, a hot spot in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter, Adam’s comfortable with his lifestyle, and sees no reason to change it. A wife and kids, plus the white picket fence are not in the cards for this confirmed bachelor. Until a beautiful woman, and her sweet princess, literally knock him on his ass.

Sarah Cox has just moved to New Orleans, having accepted a position as a social worker specializing in at-risk women and children. It’s a demanding, sometimes dangerous job, but Sarah is no shy wallflower. She can handle just about anything that comes at her, even the attentions of one sexy Adam Turner. Just because he’s charmed her daughter, making her think of magical kingdoms with happily ever after, doesn’t mean that Sarah believes in fairy tales. But the more time she spends with the enchanting man, the more he begins to sway her into believing in forever.

Even so, when Sarah’s job becomes more dangerous than any of them bargained for, will she be ripped from Adam’s life forever?

my thoughts

Don’t hurt me, but I’ve NEVER read any of the Boudreaux Series by Kristen Proby! I know! It’s ridiculous! I really have no good excuse either. I mean, I LOVE her writing style so damn much! I think completely devouring EASY FOR KEEPS has given me the motivation to get my ass in gear and start the series. There is no more putting it off. Simply put…I NEED MORE!

Oh Adam and Sarah, how I love thee…seriously! These two were EVERYTHING together! Their smoldering hot chemistry was the main driver of why I finished this book in an hour. Another factor? OMG, it was just the SWEETNESS of it all! Sarah’s baby girl? Ugh! She was completely and utterly precious! Hailey was five going on thirty and she was definitely her mother’s daughter. So smart and so confident…every time her dialogue popped up, I fell in love…

Easy For Keeps Sweet Teaser

Sarah Cox has a tough and dangerous job, and I loved the fact that after only 5 minutes with Adam, he became instantly protective of Sarah and her daughter. Sarah is no damsel in distress, but after losing her husband 3 years ago, and being a single mom, it was about time that someone took care of her for once. Even though Adam has no intentions of being in a relationship, there is something about the fierce momma that has his heart beating quicker than normal. One night turns to two. Two turns to three, and so on and so forth. As days go by, Sarah and her daughter pull Adam deeper under their spell. And after everything he thought he never wanted could be taken away from him in an instant, well, let’s just say, he may be singing a different tune.

EASY FOR KEEPS was a quick and stunning read, full of sexy and sweet! If you aren’t familiar with Proby’s work, believe me, after consuming this HOT little read, you will become a fan for life!

Easy For Keeps HOT Teaser

quoteThe next afternoon, I’m stocking bottled beer behind the bar, lost in thought. At this time of day, business is slow, so my mind wanders.

And lately, it’s been wandering to a certain beautiful brunette.

“Why are you so chipper?”

My head whirls around at Callie’s voice. “I’m not chipper.”

“You’re whistling,” she says with a laugh and grabs a wet rag to wipe down the already clean bar. “You’re happy about something.”

“Why shouldn’t I be happy?” I counter and toss the empty crate to the side of the bar. “We have a great business and it’s a beautiful day.”

“And you’ve been spending a lot of time with a certain woman,” she says and raises a brow in my direction.

“Truth,” I reply and smile.

“She’s pretty,” Callie says thoughtfully. “And you said she has a child?”

“Yes, Hailey. She’s five.”

“How long has Sarah been divorced?”

I frown. “She’s not. She’s widowed.”

“Oh.” Callie frowns and looks down at the bar and then back at me. “I’m sorry to hear that.”

“Yeah. He was a cop, killed in the line of duty.”

“That’s horrible.” She leans on the bar and crosses her arms over her chest, watching me.

It’s not that I’ve been keeping Sarah and Hailey a secret. Not at all. I’ve been consumed by them. When I’m not here, I’m with them, and Callie has been in Nashville with her husband, Declan, while he produced a new album for a country singer.

I glance up to find her still staring at me.

“What?” I demand.

“You probably don’t want to hear this.”

“That’s never stopped you before,” I reply. “What’s on your mind?”

“You’d better not hurt her,” Callie says sternly. “Seriously, Adam, she’s…fragile.

“B*llshit.” I pace away, then turn back and brace my hands on my hips. “She’s not weak, Callie. She’s one of the strongest people I’ve ever met.”

About Kristen Proby

Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.

Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.

Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two pugs and two cats.
